Sylvester's first grandchild arrived in Thailand - and what better way to go to meet her than on an adventure he's long wanted to undertake - travelling by train from his London home to her home in Thailand!  It took him six weeks, and he kept a Travelogue with photos, videos and anecdotes.  Here are a few shots, and you can find the rest at www.clareeden.com/traveller

Who Is He?

In celebration of his 80th Birthday Sylvester will tell his extraordinary life story in a special film from Film Stories entitled "SYLVESTER: Who's the Real McCoy".  Sign up to the Newsletter if you'd like news on its release later this year.

He’s recently filmed on several Indie films that have recently come out: BANANACIDE (Jack Allen Films), and DEAD BEFORE THEY WAKE (Nathan Shepko Films) and The Narrator on ARGH & The Quest for the Golden Dragon Skull.

If you have access to BBC iPlayer his episode of FATHER BROWN  is on there now -  as The Hermit of  Hazelnut Cottage, a role written especially for him.

The Whoniverse celebrated as Sylvester returned as the Seventh Doctor in Power of The Doctor; DOCTOR WHO in honour of the BBC’s 100th Birthday and the final episode for Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor. And then again as he and Sophie Aldred (Ace) appeared in Tales of the TARDIS, DOCTOR WHO, in celebration of the series 60th anniversary last autumn.

On film he is Igor in Rob Zombie’s latest telling of THE MUNSTERS for Universal, and also to come out are the Shape Shifter Gwydion in HOLD EXCALIBUR; The Umbrella Man in HEARTSMITH; and Grossman in YOU, working again with Italian director Nicola Abbatangelo at Moolmore Films. For his performance as Dr Huggins in Julius Berg’s THE OWNERS he won the Best Actor Award at Frightfest Film Festival 2021 playing opposite Rita Tushingham in a double act you didn't know you wanted and didn't know could be so evil!

You'll likely also know him as Radagast The Brown in Peter Jackson's THE HOBBIT feature trilogy and The Old Man of Hoy in Netflix's cult series SENSE 8. You may also have caught him in Scotland's first Christmas Rom-Com PERFECT STRANGERS set in the Scottish Highlands.

Other recent screen work includes; the short film BEAUTY which opened at the Alice nella città film festival in Rome recently; the short film THE LAST CONJUROR with Sylvester in the title role; the supernatural film SLUMBER with Maggie Q, and THE CHRISTMAS CANDLE alongside Lesley Manville, Hans Matheson and John Hannah. And on TV:  in Dave's comedy ZAPPED!, the BBC comedy THE CRIMS, and THE FIVE (ISH) DOCTORS REBOOT to celebrate the 50th anniversary. He's also just enjoyed a fun guest role in BBC TV's HOLBY; and filmed a series of five features with Sophie Aldred and Colin Baker for The One Show (not yet transmitted).

On stage he played the Fool to Ian McKellen's KING LEAR for the RSC, and played Christopher in APARTNESS a new multi-media piece in which Sylvester played opposite Linda Marlowe in filmed inserts as a back-drop to a live performance from Eleanor May Blackburn at the Edinburgh Festival & Bloomsbury Theatre (2022).  He also appeared at the Edinburgh Festival in A JOKE with Robert Picardo & John Betts; and as the Narrator in the premiere of new musical LITTLE FIR TREE at Kings Place, London.

He played the title role in the Penny Dreadfuls' production of DON QUIXOTE for BBC Radio, and also joined Strangeness in Space playing the role of Nigel, Sophie's dad ... Sophie played by a certain Sophie Aldred, his companion in DOCTOR WHO.
